Weekend Recap

General laziness, lots of studying (Bry is taking his GMAT this fall), we tried a delicious new restaurant, went hiking around 3 Lakes Park, a little shopping, saw Julie and Julia which was really good--Meryl Streep is an amazing actress, and I've been stalking Ebay to try to find a few birthday presents for Bry--

I've been seriously addicted to Ebay lately, in preparation for a new Fall season and countless events (um football games), I've been searching for some new fall clothing. The new J Crew catalogue has not exactly been a good influence either. I'm usually in a pretty strong state of addiction when it comes to Ebay but recently it has been off the charts. I tend to play psychological games with myself when it comes to this online shopping site--like for instance I think of any $$ that I make selling clothes on Ebay as "play $$--like monopoly money", money that is to be leaving my pockets as soon as I receive it for better, prettier, more season appropriate clothing. If my balance runs out, which surprise! it already has this week, I think man...I need to go through my closets again. I'm a clothes peddler! a "textile merchant" according to some, and I need help--I know, I know. If anyone knows a 12-step program for Ebay addiction, please help a girl out.

On that note--only good things to look forward to this week, my Birthday two weeks! starts on Thursday, woohoo...I'll explain that later, and cereal for dinner b/c Bry is away on business.

Friday, yes please!

This is what it looks like outside right now....

at least it's Friday!

I'm also excited to try out the Wine Cube White Sangria that I just found at Target! I'll let you know if it's any good. Can you believe one of those things holds 2! bottles of wine? Now I don't feel so bad taking down a bottle with Bry most weekend nights.

For anyone looking for a movie rec this weekend 500 Days of Summer is super cute. It's kind of a main-stream indie love story movie if that makes sense--a great summer movie. Bonus: good soundtrack, all indie movies have awesome music, well I mean all main-stream indie movies, which are the ones I see! (I'm thinking Garden State) Extra Bonus! Joseph Gordon-Levitt is wayyyy more attractive than Zach Braff.

Happy Weekend!

We are...a little obsessed

I've got a confession...

I'm a huge college football fan--and it's a little out of control. I was groomed from birth to be a huge Penn State fan. It wasn't a choice, it was a way of life, and one that I think is totally normal. I've got photos I took as a child of Joe Paterno (Penn States head coach) walking off the football bus to go into Beaver Stadium. I insisted my boyfriend order the Big Ten Network last night before the Penn State Story came on. I almost had a panic attack when Bry and I saw Jay Paterno (JP's son and one of the PSU coaches) in the Dulles airport last year--I recognized the man by his HAIRCUT ok? We were on one of those shuttle buses that takes you to your terminal and I look over and theres this guy with his head down, wearing a Penn State jacket. I immediately though, OMG! it's Jay Paterno. We then silently stalked the man out of the shuttle bus and began to follow him to his gate. It's bad...I know it's bad but I can't help it. Be forewarned, my emotional state each Saturday this fall will be determined by the win or the loss of my football team. So with all that out of the way it's time to get geared up! Football season is just around the corner...

Sidenote: How do you embed a video in a post?

Shouldn't this show be called Top Tat?

I'm definitely a fan of Top Chef, don't get me wrong, but I'm having trouble getting into the show this season. I think it miiight have something to do with the abundance of piercings, ear pulls (or whatever those things are called), and tattoos. I'm all for freedom of expression but cooking shows should = looking clean. Top Chef can still count me in for now but heres to hoping the grunge gets kicked sooner rather than later.

Sidenote/Celebrity Sighting: Yesterday I swear! I saw Johnny Drama's look alike in Starbucks--I'm not going to kid you, he's not an attractive dude, but all I could think was "VICTORY" while walking out.

Also, for those of you who don't know me already here is a little intro--

I'm twenty-four, almost twenty-five! and living in Richmond VA. We just moved into an awesome loft style apartment--we being my boyfriend Bry and our little cat Reagan. We both graduated from UVA which is still close by in Charlottesville so we get back pretty often for football games and to visit my little sister who goes to school there. I've always lived in Virginia but I love! to travel. Bry lived in Dallas for the first year we dated so we traveled back and forth a ton. I really enjoyed our time in Texas and like to think we brought a little back to VA...but thats for another post...I'll be blogging about random musings, style finds, my love for Ebay, foodie obsessions, good movies, Reagans new antics, travels, etc, you get the idea. I'm excited to start blogging and hope to meet some great people in the process!

Fall Lusts

Lately I've been craving the start of fall. Maybe its football season being right around the corner, maybe its the new line of Fall items from Jcrew but all I want right now is a cool day, falling leaves, and a pumpkin beer in hand. These are some items from my fall wish (I really actually need! these things) list...quoting my new obsession the RZ proj...."I die":

J Crew Long Boyfriend Blazer

Tory Burch Reva Flats

J Crew Corsage Cardigan

J Crew Juliet Heels

J Crew Dream Shawl Sweater

I'll admit I wasn't too big on the pre-pre fall line from J Crew but now I take it allll back. We're obviously still meant to be...

Teddy

No matter your politics we can all agree that Ted Kennedy worked his whole life to serve our country. There is a great documentary playing on HBO right now, Ted Kennedy: In his own words, that gives a comprehensive story of his life. It's really well done.
He prevailed through so many tragedies and was still able to give back so much. He will be greatly missed.
